Quality
OfSTED
OfSTED is the inspectorate for children
and learners in England. Their role is to contribute to the provision
of better education and care through effective inspection and regulation.
This is achieved through a comprehensive system of inspection and regulation
covering childcare, schools, colleges, children's services, teacher
training and youth work. OfSTED are a non-ministerial government department
accountable to Parliament.
OFSTED inspections are designed to fulfil the requirements of the Children Act 2004 for integrated inspection to support improvement
in the five outcomes identified in Every
Child Matters:
- be healthy
- stay safe
- enjoy and achieve
- make a positive contribution
- achieve economic well-being.
