Curriculum

Children at Lincolnshire Montessori
learn key life skills: independence, accomplishment, a sense of challenge
and achievement, and the importance of teamwork. Building on the Montessori
lower primary, the 9-12 curriculum fully meets the requirements of the
National Curriculum and goes well beyond this in many subjects.
Lincolnshire Montessori has small
class sizes, high teacher to pupil ratio and our experiential learning
is highly personalised. Our class teachers are Montessori Early Childhood
and Primary trained.
Our older children, who have benefited
from their early and lower primary years in a Montessori setting are,
by this age, well equipped to be competent and independent learners.
Much of their research is self driven. Literacy and Numeracy form the
basis of the three hour morning work cycle:
Curriculum
Language Studies include:
Grammar and Parts of speech
Language Skills
Oral Work
Writing skills
Sentence analysis
Mathematical Studies include:
Long Multiplication & Division
Fraction multiplication and division

Other subjects covered in the Montessori
Primary Classes are History, Geography, the Sciences, Art, Cooking,
Computer Skills, Design and Technology, religions and festivals around
the world. Topics also play an important part of the curriculum at the
Primary level. The National Curriculum subjects are covered within the
school curriculum. Each class has at least two computers and is connected
to the Internet. Our library, art room and school hall provide
the space and resources to enhance the curriculum.
In addition, children have weekly athletics
and swimming lessons off site.
Following the upper primary, children
move on to local state or independent secondary school well equipped
with confidence, self esteem and social skills. Our experience show
that these children have the concentration, motivation and self belief
to thrive in the next stage of their schooling.
